a) Danh/tính từ có 2 âm tiết: nhấn vần 1
Ví dụ: student, table, sticker... happy, random, courage....
Ngoại lệ: machine, event
b) Động từ 2 âm tiết: nhấn vần 2
Ví dụ: to admit, to intent, to construct...
c) Động từ 2 âm tiết kết thúc bằng OW, EN, Y, EL, ER, LE, ISH: nhấn âm 1
Ví dụ: to open, to follow, to hurry, to struggle, to flatter, to finish..
2. Từ có 3 hay trên âm tiết: nhấn vần thứ 3 từ tay phải qua
Ví dụ: to celebrate,curriculum, to unify... Ví dụception: to develop, imagine, banana
3. Hậu tố:
a) Nhấn trước CIV(consonant-I-vowel) Ví dụ: australia, religious, physician..
b) Nhấn trước IC
Ví dụ: titanic, panasonic, pacific....
Ngoại lệ: rhetoric, lunatic, catholic, arithmetic, politics, Arabic
c) Nhấn vào các âm sau: ADE, OO, OON, EE, EEN, EER, ESE, ISE, IZE, AIRE, SELF
Ví dụ: pickaboo, millionaire, cocoon, analyze, engineer, themselves....
d) Nhấn trước TION, TAL: Ví dụ: tradition, continental,....

b) Danh từ phức:
b1. N+N , N+gerund , gerund+N: nhấn vào danh từ 1 Ví dụ: river bank, coal mining,living room...
b2. N + adj: Nhấn danh từ: Ví dụ: a handsome and good man...
b3. N( sỡ hữu, vật, thành phần) + N: nhấn cả hai: Ví dụ: my father's book, wood chair, egg cake...
